Confused? With thousands of online choices, how do you find the best online florist?
We have been ordering flowers online for several years now, and have experimented with a variety of different florists. So which is the best online florist we have found? First of all, most online florists actually use one or both of the two giants in the online flower field- FTD and Teleflora. Our experience has been generally positive with both, with one exception. The best online florist is only as good as the local florists they use. We have been extremely pleased with the local florists contacted for us by both FTD and Teleflora. Local florists can't have every flower type and color on hand at all times and occasionally need to substitute flowers. Keeping that in mind, the flowers delivered to our door, or to the homes of loved ones, often were not exact replicas of the photos of the flowers we ordered. However they were similar to the photos, fresh, and lovely, and we were extremely pleased. Our latest experience this Valentine's Day, however, has helped us to decide on the best online florist for us.... FTD uses local florists, but also ships flowers overnight. When they used a local florist for us, things were fine. But during the high demand of Valentine season, although we were promised delivery from a local florist, in fact the flowers were boxed and shipped to us by air overnight. The flowers arrived bruised and broken. Shipped flowers can be damaged and dehydrated during transit. A very disappointing experience on the most romantic day of the year! Customer service was reasonable, however. It took a week for them to get back to us, but we were given a full refund. Teleflora uses 25,000 florists in North America, and always uses local florists to fill a flower order. The flowers are always delivered when someone is home, (even if the florist has to call and make a second attempt), and have always been beautiful. So far, Internet Florist has been the best online florist for us. Flowers are hand-delivered on the day requested, and are always fresh and artistically arranged. Internet Florist has both FTD and Teleflora flower arrangements, however, so play it safe and choose their Teleflora arrangements during crunch seasons like Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. For other times of the year, like birthdays, anniversaries, or get well occasions, FTD has great choices as well. More tips for best online florist experience:
1.Order early during peak flower holidays like Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. The best online florists refuse to take more orders than they can handle.
2.Order florist-arranged bouquets, not boxed flowers. Most women prefer to have their flowers arranged for them.
3.Stay open to substitutions so florists can use the freshest, best flowers available.
